Ukraine continues to collect gold at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships
Not a day goes by without gold medals. It is on this schedule that the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship is held for us, the title partner of which is Parimatch.
Junior Polina Karika, who was third in the standings on November 27 following the results of performances with clubs, became the European champion in the final with the ball on Saturday! Her number was not just very spectacular, it turned out to be full of complex elements. And looking at the faces of the judges, one could already expect that Polina’s grades would be high. Shortly after Polina, another junior of ours, Karina Sidorak, won a silver medal in the final of the European Championship with a ribbon.
We did not have time to rejoice in this achievement, as well as the fantastic performance of our adult athletes in group exercises (5 balls) brought gold awards. The number of Ukrainian athletes impressed with its dynamism and beauty. The choreographer of the national team, Irisha Blokhin, who watched the performance from the rostrum very emotionally and her reaction after the performance said that she is currently waiting for only gold medals. Well, she wasn’t wrong here.
Unfortunately, we were a little short of gold in the final performance of the day (3 hoops + 2 pairs of clubs). In a tense struggle, the national team of Ukraine won silver medals.
The culmination of the European Championship will be Sunday, the program includes individual performances among adults. This is the most important day of the competition and we believe that the national team of Ukraine will be able to continue its golden series.
Kateryna Belorusska, President of the Parimatch Foundation International Charitable Foundation:
“It is very important that the European Championship is held in Ukraine despite the pandemic. Many countries have come to us and it is a success. We need to thank the organizers who put so much effort into helding the competition. And it is especially nice that for us the European championship did not do without gold medals. We presented a new generation of gymnasts, our girls are showing amazing success, they are the future. ”
“I believe that rhythmic gymnastics is the most beautiful sport. And at the same time you understand how much work is invested in each performance. I want such events to take place in Ukraine more often. ”
“The mission of the Parimatch Foundation is to develop children’s potential and involve children in sports. We try to develop children’s sports in Ukraine, support competition organizers and individual children. We want events such as the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships to motivate them. ”
