UHL and PM Foundation held “Training with a Star” in Kyiv
On February 25, the traditional “Training with a Star” from UHL and PM Foundation for young students of the Kyiv “Sokil” took place on the open-air skating rink at the VDNH in Kyiv. The second open-air master class in 2021 was held by four-time champion of Ukraine, captain of the national team, sports head of UHL – Oleksandr Pobedonostsev, also coaches of CYSS “Sokil”, two-time champion of Ukraine Dmytro Markovsky and silver medalist of the Czech Republic, five-time champion of Ukraine Michail Fadeev.
During the training, experienced hockey players showed the younger generation the technique of owning a puck and a stick, held a master class in skating, as well as played a small two-way match.
UHL sports headOlexander Pobedonostsev shared his impressions after training:
– Meetings with famous athletes are one of the formats of motivation for young athletes, that’s why it is so important for us to hold a “Training with a Star” for future hockey players. When we first started playing hockey, there was no such thing as experienced players sharing their experience and, to be honest, that was not enough.
We did not have the opportunity to directly adopt someone’s experience, so now we want to give the younger generation the maximum knowledge and skills that we lacked in childhood.
During the master class, the coaches shared with young hockey players their knowledge and secrets of professional skills, as well as by their own example showed that diligent training leads to great results.
Katerina Biloruska, president of the International Charitable Foundation Parimatch Foundation, said:
– Such events are very motivating. Young athletes communicate with real professionals, learn their skills and see what you can strive for. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of such training for boys, because for them it is an experience that is sure to come in handy in the future.
At the end of the “Training with a Star”, the hockey players had a photo and autograph session for everyone.
