As part of the tournament, young hockey players compete in two groups, and on May 6 the teams will play the main trophies of the competition.
During the Junior Hockey Cup among the teams of 2004-2006, the Ukrainian Hockey League and Parimatch held a “Training with a Star” in a new city for the project – Kramatorsk.
The ice arena in Kramatorsk opened in March 2021 and hosted a newcomer of the UHL, the eponymous HC “Kramatorsk”, as well as children’s and youth schools. Since the opening of the school, more than 100 children have been involved in hockey in the city, and all the teams of the local school have started playing in the championships of Ukraine for their age groups.
The master class was traditionally held by the General Director of the UHL, a former player of the NHL, KHL and the national team of Ukraine – Serhiy Varlamov , as well as four-time champion of Ukraine, captain of the national team, sports director of UHL – Oleksandr Pobedonostsev.
During the “Training with a Star”, all participants were able not only to hone their skills in stick and puck, but also to improve their skating technique. All participants were divided into groups and in different areas trained the force of the throw, the accuracy of the blow, the skill of possession of the puck, as well as tried themselves in breaking the bullet.
UHL Sports Director Oleksandr Pobedonostsev told about his emotions from the first “Training with a Star” in Kramatorsk:
It’s great that this season we have trained in many new cities. This season, in Kramatorsk and Mariupol, I first heard about hockey and I’m sure we were able to love it. And we showed young athletes what they can achieve and what they should strive for.
Vadym Misyura, Public Relations Director of Parimatch Ukraine noted:
Thanks to the efforts of Parimatch and UHL, we are able to expand the geography of the project. We understand how important such training is for children, on the one hand they can hone their skills, and on the other hand they can train and communicate with their idols. Step by step, together we are helping children to become champions tomorrow, and this is the contribution we are making today.
After training, experienced hockey players held a photo and autograph session for all young athletes.
