Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk and Oleg Verniayev are new guests of the "Breakfast with Champions" project from TM Parimatch
On May 8, within the framework of the project "Breakfast with Champions" from TM Parimatch, an online conference was held with vice-champion of world athletics Marina Bekh-Romanchuk and Olympic gymnastics champion Oleg Verniayev.
During the conference, the athletes talked to the famous sports commentator Alexander Hlyvynsky and answered questions from fans and media representatives.
Marina and Oleg told about the difficult period for each athlete, how quarantine restrictions on their lives were affected, told about how they keep themselves in adversarial conditions at home and shared their impressions about the postponement of the main sporting event of the four-year anniversary – the Olympic Games for June 2021.
"Physical fitness is very important in any case for an athlete. If you find an opportunity to support it now, it will be much easier to return to training. Personally, for the first two weeks I did nothing and rested at all, but later the body began to require the usual physical activity and now I am trying to spend this time with benefits for my body. It is very difficult for gymnasts to regain physical conditions, but the conditions are the same for everyone now, so everything will definitely be fine," Oleg Verniayev, the Olympic champion of 2016, said about his quarantine experience.
Also, the athlete shared interesting facts about preparations for the next Olympic Games and his attitude to their transfer to 2021, told when the international gymnastics competition will return and assessed the potential of our young athletes who will be able to adequately represent Ukraine in future competitions.
Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk, vice-champion of the world, shared her impressions of current events in the world of sports: "I was really looking forward to this year's Olympics, because I had my own tasks for it. In addition to sports, there is still a family, which is also very important to devote their time. The quarantine of course affected all plans, so you have to adjust. But I hope that all competitions will soon return to sports arenas, and the Olympic Games will be held in a certain timeframe in 2021, because every athlete works exhaustingly to win a medal from the Olympics."
In addition, Ukrainian athletics spoke about its preferences for individual sports and the opportunity to perform in other sports, as well as talked about where to get new technical skills and inspiration to achieve new sports peaks.
"Of course, representatives of individual sports differ from team, even in communication. From Parimatch I want to thank you for the opportunity to communicate and answer the questions of our viewers. Our brand has supported Ukrainian sport for many years and we understand that meetings with such athletes is a great example for our youth in the context of role model and achievement of both sports and life goals," said Vadim Misyura, representative of TM Parimatch.
