Cybertruck completed the tour of the largest cities in Ukraine
With the beginning of the performances of the national football team of Ukraine at the continental Euro 2020 championship, the unique Cybertruck project started at the initiative of Parimatch with the support of the Ukrainian E-Sports Federation, UESF. The starting point of the project was the legendary “Olympic” stadium in the heart of the capital. 11 cities during three weeks, more than 3000 km around Ukraine and thousands of Ukrainians, who together cheered for the CS: GO and Dota 2 teams, and then also together frantically supported our national football team.
It was in Kyiv, on June 13, the first e-sports competitions in CS: GO and Dota 2 between the best teams of Kyiv region took place. It was there that football fans saw the first match of our national team at Euro and it was there that a three-week trip around the cities of Ukraine began in order to share unique emotions from football and e-sports in the regions.
From the capital of Ukraine, the truck went west, Rivne, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk became the first cities to meet the “Cybertruck”. Many Lviv residents and guests of the city gathered for the game between Ukraine and Northern Macedonia, who saw the first victory of our guys at the Euro. These cities also surprised everyone with their young people, who are interested in e-sports. Accordingly, the level of teams was quite high, which added interest in watching matches of CS: GO and Dota 2.
From Ivano-Frankivsk truck went south, where the first stop was Odessa. In the heart of the city gathered several hundred spectators who supported our team until the final whistle in the final match of the group stage of Euro 2020 against the team of Austria. Despite the disappointing result, the audience received unforgettable emotions from the atmosphere that prevailed in the Greek Square.
The next cities were Mykolayiv, Zaporizhia and Dnipro, which also had their own football fans, but there were even more e-sports fans who were remembered for their dedication to e-sports competitions. Dnipro is generally considered to be the e-sports capital of Ukraine, so the level of local teams was expected to be higher than previous cities.
From Dnipro, Cybertrak went to Kharkiv, where we witnessed a historic event in the fan zone – a match between Andriy Shevchenko’s team and the Swedish national team. The goal in the last seconds of added time from Artem Dovbyk will long be remembered by Kharkiv, who could not sleep until the morning and celebrated the exit of our national team in the quarterfinals of the Euro.
And already in the quarterfinals the screen of the truck was broadcast in Poltava, and even despite its disappointing result, the fans stood and applauded our footballers for a few weeks, who fell in love with thousands of Ukrainians in football and our national team.
The last city in the project was Chernihiv – a city where e-sports fans were no less than football fans who were waiting for the semifinal match between the national teams of England and Denmark. They could even argue about which sports fans are more in the city.
During the project, the Parimatch Championship of Ukraine of CS: GO and Dota 2 with the total prize fund of the competition UAH 1,000,000, in which anyone can take part, was also announced. In general, the combination of e-sports and a football tournament of this level helped to understand each other’s different generations better. It is obvious that e-sports is more interesting for young people, and after it is officially recognized as a real sport, there are even more young fans.
The older generation was interested in football and the national team, but they all met in the fan zone of the unique project “Cybertruck” and learned more about each other and side by side cheered, rejoiced, won and suffered unfortunate defeats.
As part of the project, many valuable gifts from organizers of Parimatch were raffled off. Guests had free access to the PlayStation lounge area, where the boys taught their parents to play FIFA, families competed in table football and tennis, posed for photos with friends and loved ones in the Parimatch photo area, and simply enjoyed the summer evenings.
Partnership aims to develop the youth e-sports scene, as well as the education of new talents.
World actors, thousands of cosplayers and fantastic Let's Play and King of the Mountain zones.
Chernihiv became the last of the eleven cities in Ukraine to be visited by a huge truck-transformer as part of the unique e-sports project "Cybertruck".
