The national team of Ukraine took the fourth place at the European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship
The European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship ended in Warsaw. The national team of Ukraine brought home three bronze medals at once, which allowed to take in the team event the fourth place . Thus, the European Championship for the Greco-Roman Wrestling Federation of Ukraine, whose general partner is Parimatch, was quite successful.
The first medal was won by the Olympic medalist Jean Belenyuk , and after that this result was repeated by Victor Petryk and Maxim Yevtushenko . Belenyuk won bronze in the 87 kg weight category. Before that, Jean lost to Datunashvili in the quarterfinals, but as the Serb advanced to the final, the Ukrainian got a chance to continue the fight. He defeated the Croatian Luburic and the German Kudla. Victory over the latter brought Belenyuk bronze.
The European Championship is very difficult – both physically and emotionally. But also extremely useful, it ended with a bronze medal for me. The championship showed all the shortcomings and problems that will have to work hard. This means that this tournament has fully fulfilled its task for me, – Beleniuk wrote in his Instagram.
Petryk won bronze in the weight category up to 60 kg. In the medal fight Victor defeated Gleb Makarenko from Belarus. And Yevtushenko in the fight for bronze (weight category 72 kg) defeated Roman Pokurkowski from Poland.
