Stanislav Horuna won a bronze medal in karate at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo
Ukrainian karateka Stanislav Horuna became a bronze winner of the Games in Tokyo. The Lviv resident is one of the strongest karatekas in the world. In Tokyo, a 32-year-old Ukrainian confirmed this status. However, before the trip to the Games, the athlete stressed that only gold will be a success.
Ukrainian lost in the semifinals of the Olympics to the representative of Italy Luigi Busa – 0: 3 . Horuna took 2nd place in the qualifying group (2 wins, draw and defeat), Busa won his group (3 wins and losses). The Italian is a two-time world champion and five-time European champion, who also won the Olympic Games.
Today Stas is forced to enjoy the bronze. The drama is that these Games can be the first and last for an experienced athlete. He already has a career rich in trophies and a busy life outside of sports.
More positive emotions will be tomorrow. Today I feel the difference between the expectations, the announced results and what I have. I think that I, as an amateur athlete, have a very good result. You can even smile after the defeat in the semifinals.
Parimatch joins all the congratulations addressed to Stanislav and the entire Ukrainian national team. You deserve to win and raise the Ukrainian flag. We thank you!
