Parimatch Foundation: gave special sports holiday to children with special needs
On February 19, the Parimatch Foundation held an inclusive football training for children at the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University in Lutsk. This event took place within the All-Ukrainian comprehensive program of the fund “Yes, I can”. The program aims to encourage children to play sports and create all the necessary conditions for sports to be equally accessible to all.
During the training there was a sports relay race for children, as well as a football master class from the ex-player of the national team of Ukraine and the winner of the UEFA Cup Artem Fedetskyi. He was happy to stand at the gate, participated in various games and entertainment. Fedetskyi was the most anticipated guest for the little ones and all the children tried very hard to beat him. They succeeded, they were very happy and even more confident in their own strength, because to compete on equal terms with a famous athlete is a real adventure. During the football trainings of the project “Yes, I can” groups are mixed, so children with disabilities are engaged with ordinary children, or volunteers. It really helps to socialize kids with special needs. In all inclusive groups, even in a short period of time, significant progress can be seen. Classes in groups are free for parents.
The sports holiday for special children turned out to be unforgettable and intense. The smiles of children and their parents proved once again that such training should be held regularly. At the end of the event, a bubble show was waiting for the guests, and after the training, the children were presented with gifts.
Exercise and physical education for children with special needs are not just about supporting their health and rehabilitation. Very often this is the main opportunity for socialization and realization of the child’s talents in the team. This is what makes children’s lives better and gives bright positive emotions.
The training was organized together with the Parimatch Foundation by the NGO “Parents of Children with Down Syndrome and Other Developmental Disorders” and Lesya Uktainka Volyn National University. Ukrainian women. The guests of the event were Lutsk City Council, Department of Family, Youth and Sports of LCC, Department of Education of LCC, Department of Youth and Sports of Volyn Regional State Administration, Football Federation of Lutsk Director of the Lutsk Rehabilitation and Education Center
Kateryna Belorusskaya, President of the Parimatch Foundation International Charitable Foundation: “Sport has a positive effect on the child’s physical condition and psycho-emotional. It gives such needed positive emotions to children. For a child with special needs, football, for example, is not about sports achievements, but about gaining new experiences, enjoyment of playing together, friends and a smile. It’s also important for parents, they enjoy the opportunity to diversify their child’s life. “
Artem Fedetskyi, ex-player of the national team of Ukraine: “I am very impressed by the children, by their willpower, confidence and desire to be on an equal footing with their peers. Such trainings are very important and necessary! Glad to be able to join such an action! Thank you very much for inviting me! ”
Project “Yes, I can!” proved to be excellent last year and in 2021 the international charitable foundation Parimatch Foundation plans to open inclusive sports groups in 10 more regions of Ukraine and to involve at least 300 children with disabilities. Currently, such groups have already been implemented in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv. This year Cherkasy, Rivne and Lutsk joined. In the long run, the goal of the project “Yes, I can!” is to create a decent sports environment for children with special needs throughout Ukraine.
Parimatch has joined the fundraising platform UNITED24. The company has already provided significant financial assistance and is now joining media support, featuring world sport stars.
