Parimatch Foundation held an inclusive training for children in Cherkasy

International Charity Parimatch Foundation continues to expand geography. On May 15 inclusive football trainings for children within the framework of the All-Ukrainian comprehensive program of the fund “Yes, I can!” took place in Cherkasy.

Dozens of children who have been training in Cherkasy for more than four months have joined the training. For the children it was the first experience of playing in the football arena, they went out on the field to play with professional players of FC Dnipro Cherkasy. Thanks to this, the children not only felt the atmosphere of a great game, they tried themselves in the role of real football players. Before the training, the children were presented with gifts.

The regional partners of the project were the charity foundation“Champions of life”, co-founders of which are Angela Kotova and Yury Goncharov. This project is implemented with the support of the regional community and active citizens.

It is also worth noting that the class was conducted by a famous player, goalkeeper of the National Paralympic team of Ukraine Bohdan Kulinych. Not so long ago, at the XV Summer Paralympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Bogdan and his team won gold medals and became Paralympic champions. In addition, Bogdan is a world and European champion. And now he demonstrates his skills and shares his experience as a mentor.

Sports and physical education for such children are not just about supporting their health and rehabilitation. Very often this is the main opportunity for socialization and realization of the child’s talents in the team. This is what makes children’s lives better and gives bright positive emotions.

Kateryna Belorusskaya, President of the Parimatch Foundation, International Charity:

The Foundation program “Yes, I can!” continues to expand its geography. I am very glad that we have opened Cherkasy, a new city for us. It is nice that there are also caring people and all the necessary conditions for organizing children’s training. Sport has a positive effect on the physical condition of the child and on psycho-emotional. It gives such positive emotions to children. For a child with a disability it is getting new experiences, enjoyment of playing together, friends and a smile. It is also important for parents – they enjoy the opportunity to diversify their child’s life and see how happy their children are.

The program “Yes, I can!” is an important initiative for socialization and sports for children with special needs. We are always happy to join and support all such initiatives. After all, inclusion must be introduced into various spheres of life from childhood. We will do everything to ensure that such projects are implemented not only in Cherkasy, but scaled to the entire region. We are already working on a number of such ideas and plans. “ said the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration Oleksandr Skichko.

“I would like inclusion to be not just a dream, but a reality for Cherkasy region. We are well aware that the success of promotion to it largely determines the position of the regional leadership. Therefore, the regional council in close cooperation with the regional state administration is already working on the implementation of inclusive projects in the largest cities of our region. In addition, we will always support initiatives such as “Yes, I can!” as much as we can. There should be as many of them as possible,” is convinced the Deputy Chairman of the Cherkasy Regional Council Serhiy Lisovy.

The program “Yes, I can!” aims to encourage children to play sports and create all the necessary conditions for sports to be equally accessible to all. The project proved its worth last year and in 2021 the international charity Parimatch Foundation plans to open inclusive sports groups in 10 more regions of Ukraine and involve at least 300 children with disabilities.

Currently, such groups have already been implemented in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv. This year Cherkasy, Rivne and Lutsk, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Mariupol, Lviv joined. In the long run, the goal of the project “Yes, I can!” is to create a decent sports environment for children with disabilities throughout Ukraine.
