Parimatch helped hospitals in Lviv region to get new artificial ventilation devices
Ukrainian medicine, which faced the epidemic of coronavirus COVID-19, continues to confront the disease, which this year literally changed the whole world. The selflessness of our doctors leaves us believing that this fight will be won. But this requires joint efforts to support medical institutions and their staff. First and foremost, this applies to those hospitals that accept more of all patients.Only in Lviv region, which suffered the most from the pandemic, 8229 patients were recorded. At the same time, the number of people who recovered is quite small — 1709.
The situation in the country is complicated by other socio-economic problems, which can be solved only by joint efforts of state authorities, socially responsible business and society.
The International Charitable Foundation Parimatch Foundation delivered ahp300 artificial ventilation devices manufactured by Allied Healthcare Inc to Lviv Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital and Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine.
It should be noted that at the beginning of the quarantine in these medical institutions, as well as in 8 city clinical hospitals of Lviv, the foundation organized assistance with personal protective equipment: a total of 500 respirators, 1200 surgical gloves and 500 protective suits were donated.
Serhiy Fedorenko, Chief Physician of Lviv Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital: "When the pandemic began, even the most necessary was missing. But quite quickly we already had at our disposal a minimum set of all that is necessary for receiving patients. We have appealed to both the Ministry of Health and various volunteer organizations and today we are fully provided with the most necessary. I would like to note that we have almost the lowest rate of diseases among medical personnel. A lot of young people came who want to work in spite of the danger. And, pleasedly, there are positive feedback from patients to the young medical staff."
Andriy Wasko, Acting Director General of the Lviv Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine: "Today the situation can be called stable, our medical system copes with the challenges facing it. But we are still experiencing a shortage of equipment, particularly ventilator devices with good software. Therefore, it is very important to receive such assistance.
"COVID-19 is a global problem worldwide. Lviv region, unfortunately, was not an exception. Therefore, it is very important to create decent conditions for the treatment of our citizens. Only by joining our efforts, we will be able to overcome the consequences of the pandemic," commented Vadym Misyura, representative of the Parimatch Foundation in Ukraine.
Parimatch Foundation is an international charitable foundation established by the international holding Parimatch to implement ideas and plans to promote the welfare of society.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, parimatch Foundation has actively joined the assistance of Ukrainian medics and allocated 10 million.
