Ukrainian wrestler Iryna Koliadenko won in bronze finals of the Olympics in Tokyo in the weight category up to 62 kg. In the fight for the medal, the Ukrainian was stronger than Anastasia Grigorieva from Latvia. Iryna had a very good fight: twice managed to pass behind the opponent and won with the score 3: 1 . Grigorieva is a two-time bronze medalist of the world championships.
At the start of the competition, Iryna defeated the representative of Nigeria Aminat Aden thanks to win by fall, and in the 1/4 she defeated Lun Jia from China again thanks to fall. In the semifinal fight, Iryna lost to the 2019 world champion Aisuluu Tynybekova.
My coach helped me focus on fight for the bronze medal. I am grateful for the award. It was a difficult journey and I am glad that I went through it with such a great team. Now I want to rest. But the goal does not change, it’s still Olympic gold, – said Koliadenko.
