“Innovations of body education” is an event that rebooted physical education lessons
On September 10, from 10:00 to 14:00, an online conference “Innovations of body education” was held, organized by the international charitable foundation Parimatch in partnership with the Institute for Modernization of Educational Content. “Each generation has its own characteristics, and therefore – needs. To encourage modern children to take any lesson, you need to take into account their characteristics and speak the same language with them. It is necessary to connect ingenuity and constantly experiment, even if we are talking about the usual lessons of physical culture”, – said Yevhen Bazhenkov at the beginning of the conference, the chief of the Institute for Modernization of Educational Content.
During the event, sports experts, honored teachers of Ukraine and professional trainers performed. For example, Dmitry Ponomarenko, coach of professional athletes, told if standards are needed in physical education lessons. Liana Kopylova, honored teacher of Ukraine, shared life hacks, through which she motivates children to engage in physical activity. The speeches of all speakers, and there were 12, moderated by Roman Greba, president of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports.
5707 people from almost all regions of Ukraine registered for the conference! This is an important step towards quality physical culture lessons in schools that you have already done.
“We are ready to organize more events of this level to enable every Ukrainian and Ukrainian to change the future of our children and adults for the better. Thank you for being and staying with us on the way to global reformations in Ukraine”, said Kateryna Belorussian, President of the International Charitable Foundation Parimatch Foundation.
After the meeting, it became clear that physical culture lessons in schools require innovation, especially those related to new technologies. Anna Domnich, a lecturer at Novopecherska School and head of major-sports studio Lucky Dance, spoke about the impact of popular social networks on children’s desire to engage in physical activity. Its movements collect millions of views in TikTok, children from all over Ukraine connect to sports challenges, and viral videos enthusiastically are picked up by domestic stars.
The main task of the subject of physical culture now is to catch up with the development of technologies and cultural trends. “To change the sad statistics is a vocation of school physical education, which should encourage the development of a culture of activity, training and movement”, said Roman Greba, president of the Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports.
All videos from speakers’ speeches will soon be available on the Parimatch Foundation’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. You can refer to the words of our speakers in your own materials, so do not lose the recording of the broadcast.
