The IEM Katowice 2021 final brought together eSports fans at PMHUB

E-sports is already one of the most popular sports, and CS: GO is one of the disciplines that attracts millions of fans around the world. Therefore, it was simply impossible to pass the grand-final of the championship with CS: GO IEM Katowice 2021, which became historic like the whole tournament. Parimatch took the opportunity and arranged an unforgettable broadcasting of the match for the main eSports fans at PMHUB.

For the first time both finalists are teams from the CIS region

IEM Katowice 2021 is the biggest CS: GO tournament in the first half of this year. The top 6 included 4 from Eastern Europe, and two of them met in the final. On their way, they defeated the current champions of the tournament, and the strongest team in the world, which has dominated the CS scene for 3 years. Such dominance of representatives of our region in one tournament has never been in all history of Counter-Strike.

The final became interesting not only because of the squad of the teams but also because they might not be there at all. Both teams lost their first matches in the group stage and from the first day of the tournament were on the verge of relegation. Few people believed in Gambit and Virtus.pro in the quarterfinals but they created a sensation and a spectacular finale. The young and ambitious Gambit team won by a total of four cards – 3: 1. And before the championship the team was not even included in the top-15 rating. They broke into ZARUBA!

Parimatch took care of the holiday atmosphere and meeting the idols

It is even more interesting to watch the main events in the world of sports among like-minded people. That’s why the Parimatch brand organized a cool party to watch the grand final of IEM Katowice 2021. Fans of e-sports could not only enjoy their favorite game on the huge screen but also hear a live commentary from host Fedor “Kvan” Zakharov. Joint discussion of opinions on the meeting of Gambit and Virtus.pro and determination of contenders for victory. The fans were joined by guests – commentators and analysts such as Tonya “Tonya” Predko, Taufik “Tafa” Hydri, Alexei “Yxo” Maletsky and Yuri “Strike” Tereshchenko.

In the breaks between the rounds, everyone had the opportunity to test their own strength in the game zone, to remember their childhood on children’s slot machines, or to play “skating rink” on modern consoles and computers. Thanks to the spectacular game of the finalists and the cool atmosphere, time just got away.

Parimatch sees the future and great prospects in e-sports, so it continues to draw attention to this sport. Partnership with well-known industry representatives and ardent fans helps and accelerates development in this direction.
