Denys Berinchyk held an open training session with girls participating in the “Sports Mentor” program
As part of the Parimatch Foundation’s “Sports Mentor” charity program, a motivational training session was held with professional boxer and Olympic silver medalist Denys Berinchyk for the program’s girls.
Training participants are– 19 teenage girls from Volyn, Zaporizhia, Ternopil and Donetsk regions, who are engaged in martial arts under the “Sports Mentor” program. In addition, the event was joined by: coach Denys Berinchyk Yegor Golub, partner of the Parimatch Foundation, President of the Sports Committee of Ukraine Ilya Shevlyak , Head of the Juvenile Prevention Department of the National Police Vasyl Bohdan.
Meeting with a boxer is a motivational part of the “Sports Mentor” program, which encourages teenagers to play sports, see a positive example of such outstanding athletes, inspires and shows the role of a sports mentor in the life of every child. This is not the first year that the program has been implemented in permanent partnership with the Parimatch Foundation, the Sports Committee of Ukraine and the Juvenile Police Department. The purpose of the program is to help children and teenagers who find themselves in difficult life circumstances to socialize through sports.
After the training, there was an informal conversation between the participants of the “Sports Mentor” program and Denys Berinchyk. According to the boxer himself, modern teenagers need not only free access to sports, but also a mentor who will help them make right choices both in and out of sports:
Coach is not just a person who keeps track of time and gives commands. He points out mistakes, gives advice, helps. The mentor develops the athlete both physically and spiritually. During our training, I remembered all my coaches and I can say for sure: each of them became a close friend to me, an older brother. And this is exactly the kind of mentor these girls need.
“Sports Mentor” is the program of the Parimatch Foundation, which through sports adapts children to social life, regardless of their financial status and life circumstances. Exercises are used as a tool to help children develop qualities such as discipline, self-confidence and the ability to work in a team.
Very often, sports for children becomes the only opportunity to forget about problems and feel their inner strength. Therefore, the task of the program “Sports Mentor” is to show that children can find support in sports through mentors and have the opportunity to have a successful future. The project demonstrates faith in children and in the fact that thanks to their efforts they will succeed.
Vadym Misyura, Director of the Parimatch Foundation in Ukraine , stressed the importance of the program:
Unfortunately, in our country there are many families with children who for various reasons found themselves in difficult situations. For most of these children, access to sports, purchasing the necessary uniforms or equipment is not available, so our program helps them to play various sports, participate in competitions, realize their sporting potential, believe in themselves. I am convinced that life is changing for the better thanks to sports. It is important that there is always a coach-friend and mentor with the children.
Upon completion, all participants of the “Sports Mentor” program received gifts from the Foundation, valuable advice from a boxer and the opportunity to take pictures with the champion. No one was left without positive emotions.
The Foundation, in partnership with HC Sokil, has initiated the Training with a Star project for the second time.
Everyone will be able to get on the rink regardless of age and ability to skate.
The champion met with children who participated in the programs "Sports Mentor" and "Yes, I can!".
