CEO of Parimatch Ukraine Nataliia Gilevych took part in the largest IT forum in Ukraine

On June 18, the largest IT-forum iForum 2021 in Ukraine took place. One of the starting blocks of the event was Digital Fun, where three representatives of the Ukrainian gambling business came together in a panel discussion. Speakers were Nataliia Gilevich ( CEO of Parimatch Ukraine ), Oleksii Tserkovny ( marketing director of FavBet ) and Mykyta Bondarev ( EX-Head of Corporate Communications in MSL ).

The law on legalization of gambling in Ukraine came into force last year – in August 2020. However, market players began to receive the first licenses only a few months ago.

What format will gambling operators bet on: online or offline? Will betting and gambling become a threat in the fight for audience attention for other types of digital entertainment? And will there be a collaboration of gambling and video games?

Offline or online?

After 11 years of bans, when the government opened a legal gambling market in Ukraine, the question arises – what format will operators take: online or offline?

Parimatch was the first and only company to receive a betting license at the moment – for the first year of operation the bookmaker paid UAH 108 million . The online platform is a strategic focus of the company’s development.

Obviously, Netflix and Megogo are replacing classic cinemas, Aliexpress and Rozetka are replacing shopping malls. Therefore, it was not difficult for us to abandon conservative retail, – said Nataliia Gilevych, CEO of Ukrainian Parimatch , during a speech at iForum 2021.

At the same time, the company strives to maintain what was available to customers in physical locations.

In the search for new formats, it was important to preserve the value that customers received in bookmakers – it is socialization in its full sense: meeting with friends and like-minded people, watching sports events, arguing about the results of games and team achievements.

Now the customers of the company can socialize in a number of lifestyle projects created by Parimatch:

PM Hall is an entertainment complex, which combines the Sport Hub area with the largest screen in Ukraine, restaurant and museum “Sports Legends”;
PM Fight academy is a martial arts and fitness hall;
PM HUB is a space for events of the business, marketing, sports and innovation world.

In addition, leaders of gambling companies discussed the possible collaboration of video games with gambling and competition with other types of digital entertainment. Read the full review of the “Digitization of Excitement” discussion on iForum 2021 at Vector site .
